Mrs. Rosenberger is a former nurse; an octogenarian who didn't want to reveal her true age.
She was lifting her grandchild, when she felt a sharp pain in the lumber region. An x-ray revealed a fracture at L8.
"I was in such excruciating pain, I'd have to roll off the couch and crawl to bathroom,” Rosenberger stated. An orthopedic surgeon referred her for treatment after analyzing xray images of her spine.
Rosenberger was treated by Dr. Kinard and released the same day.
"I had injured my back before and had finally gone to Mayo Clinic. They told me I waited too long and was not a candidate for vertebroplasty. This time around I made sure I went in for a consultation immediately after the onset of pain,” Rosenberger.
This is a wonderful operation. I'd recommend it to anyone in the kind of pain I was in. Since my operation, I'm trying to take it easy, increasing my mobility through physical therapy. However, I can't wait to get back to play with my grandchildren again!
While vertebroplasty has a over 90% success rate in relieving severe spine pain, results will vary. For more information or to see if you or a loved one are a candidate for this procedure please refer to a specialist.
